The following information will guide you as to which form of dairy milk suits you more.

The 14 Varieties of Dairy Milk

1. Raw Milk

Raw milk refers to milk that has not undergone pasteurization or any other heat treatment. It is straight from the animal and may contain bacteria, pathogens, or other microorganisms. Raw milk consumption carries potential health risks, and its availability is regulated in many countries.

// I've tasted raw carabao milk and I didn't like it. To describe it in Tagalog, it was "naka-uumay". "Umay" has no direct translation in English. If food tastes so rich, so rich that you don't want to continue finishing it; it makes you wince.

2. Whole Milk

Whole milk is unprocessed milk that contains all the naturally occurring fat. It typically has a fat content of around 3.5-4%. An 8 oz of whole milk contains 150 calories, 8 grams fat, 12 grams carbohydrates, 12 grams sugar, and 8 grams protein.

3. Full Cream Milk

Full cream milk is another term for whole milk. Whole milk or full cream milk in powder form tastes creamy. Its texture is like starchy.

4. Low Fat Milk

Low fat milk refers to milk that has a reduced fat content compared to whole milk. The fat content in low fat milk usually ranges from 0.5% to 2%. It is often chosen by individuals who want some fat in their milk but in lesser amounts than whole milk. Variants of low fat milk are labeled reduced fat, fat-free or no-fat, 1% fat, or 2% fat.

5. Skimmed Milk

Skimmed milk is obtained by removing the fat content from whole milk. It contains less than 0.5% fat. Skimmed milk is often preferred by individuals looking for a lower-fat alternative.

6. Pasteurized Milk

Pasteurization is a process of heat treatment that kills harmful bacteria and extends the shelf life of milk. Most milk available in grocery stores is pasteurized. The process involves heating the milk to a specific temperature and then rapidly cooling it.

7. Sterilized Milk

Sterilized milk undergoes a more extensive heat treatment compared to pasteurization. It is heated to a higher temperature and is often sold in cans or bottles that can be stored at room temperature for longer periods. Sterilization kills more bacteria and other microorganisms, making the milk more shelf-stable. However, the flavor and nutritional profile may be slightly altered due to the high heat treatment.

8. UHT Milk

UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) milk undergoes a process of heating milk to a very high temperature (around 135-150°C) for a few seconds to kill bacteria and microorganisms. This process gives UHT milk a longer shelf life, allowing it to be stored unopened at room temperature for several months. Once opened, it should be refrigerated and consumed within a few days.

9. Buttermilk

Buttermilk is a slightly sour, tangy milk product. Traditionally, it was the liquid left behind after churning butter from cream. However, commercially available buttermilk is often made by fermenting regular milk with lactic acid bacteria. It is commonly used in baking and cooking.

10. Evaporated Milk

Evaporated milk is made by removing about 60% of the water content from regular milk. This process creates a denser, creamier liquid with a longer shelf life. It is often used as a substitute for regular milk in recipes or as a topping for desserts.

11. Condensed Milk

Condensed milk is made by removing water from milk and adding sugar. This results in a thick, sweet, and sticky product with a long shelf life. It is commonly used in desserts and sweets.

12. Goat Milk

Goat milk is derived from goats and has a composition similar to cow's milk but with some differences in flavor, fat content, and digestibility. It is an alternative to cow's milk and is consumed by people with allergies, intolerances, or personal preferences.

13. Sheep Milk

Sheep milk is produced by sheep and is less common than cow or goat milk. It has a higher fat and protein content compared to cow's milk, and it is often used in the production of specialty dairy products such as cheese. It has smaller fat globules, thus easier to digest and less likely to cause high cholesterol.

14. Camel Milk

Camel milk is gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional dairy milk options. While some claims suggest that camel milk is "better" than cow's milk, sheep milk, or goat milk, it's important to evaluate these claims based on available scientific evidence.

Here's some information about camel milk:

Nutritional Composition: Camel milk has a different nutritional composition compared to cow's milk, sheep milk, and goat milk. It generally contains lower levels of lactose and cholesterol and higher levels of certain vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, iron, and unsaturated fatty acids. Camel milk also has a different protein profile, with unique proteins that may have potential health benefits.

Digestibility: Some studies suggest that camel milk may be easier to digest for individuals with lactose intolerance due to its lower lactose content. However, it is not lactose-free, so those with severe lactose intolerance may still experience symptoms.

Allergenic Potential: Camel milk is considered hypoallergenic for individuals who are allergic to cow's milk protein. This means that some individuals who cannot tolerate cow's milk may find camel milk to be a suitable alternative. However, individual reactions can vary, and it is important to consult with a healthcare professional for specific dietary recommendations.

Research and Health Benefits: Research on the health benefits of camel milk is still limited, and many claims about its superiority over other types of milk are anecdotal or based on preliminary studies. Some studies have suggested potential benefits of camel milk in managing certain conditions such as diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and autism, but more robust research is needed to establish these claims.
It's worth noting that the availability of camel milk may vary depending on your location, as it is more commonly consumed in regions where camels are prevalent.

In conclusion, while camel milk has some unique characteristics and potential health benefits, it is important to approach claims about its superiority with caution. The choice of milk depends on individual dietary needs, preferences, and health considerations. If you're interested in trying camel milk or considering it as an alternative, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized advice based on your specific circumstances.

What About the All-purpose Cream?

The all-purpose cream that you mix with salad and desserts is not 100% dairy milk. It may contain milk substitutes such plant-based milk like soy milk. Thus, it does not fall under dairy milk.

Which Form of Dairy Milk is Best for You

The healthiest form of dairy milk depends on individual dietary needs, preferences, and health goals. Here's a general overview of the nutritional aspects of different forms of dairy milk:

Whole Milk/Full Cream Milk: Whole milk contains a higher amount of fat and calories compared to other forms of milk. While it provides essential nutrients like vitamins A and D, calcium, and protein, it also has a higher saturated fat content. Whole milk can be part of a healthy diet, but individuals who are watching their fat intake or have specific health conditions may opt for lower-fat options.

Skimmed Milk/Low Fat Milk: Skimmed or low fat milk has the advantage of being lower in fat and calories compared to whole milk. It still provides important nutrients like calcium, protein, and vitamins but with a reduced fat content. This makes it a suitable choice for individuals aiming to reduce their fat intake or manage weight.

Pasteurized and Sterilized Milk: Pasteurized and sterilized milk primarily differ in terms of the heat treatment they undergo, which affects their shelf life and flavor. Nutritionally, they are similar to each other and to regular milk. The heat treatments help eliminate harmful bacteria while retaining essential nutrients.

Buttermilk: Buttermilk is lower in fat and calories compared to whole milk. It is a good source of protein and calcium but may have a slightly higher sodium content due to the fermentation process. However, commercially available buttermilk can vary in composition, so it's important to check the label for specific nutritional information.

Evaporated Milk: Evaporated milk is a concentrated form of milk where water has been removed. It is higher in calories and has a richer consistency due to its higher fat content. While it provides nutrients like protein and calcium, its higher calorie content may be a consideration for those watching their calorie intake.

Condensed Milk: Condensed milk is high in calories and sugar due to the added sugar during processing. It is not typically consumed as a standalone beverage but is often used as an ingredient in desserts or sweets.

When choosing the healthiest form of dairy milk, it's important to consider your specific dietary needs and goals. If you're aiming for lower fat or calorie intake, skimmed or low-fat milk might be suitable options. If you have specific health conditions or dietary restrictions, it's always a good idea to consult a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personalized advice.

Is Dairy Milk in Powder Form Sterilized?

Dairy milk in powder form typically goes through a process of heat treatment that includes both pasteurization and drying to create the powdered product. Pasteurization is performed before the milk is converted into powder, which helps eliminate or reduce bacteria and other microorganisms present in the fresh milk.

During the drying process, the milk is heated to evaporate the water content, which further aids in reducing the moisture that bacteria need to survive and grow. The combination of pasteurization and drying helps make powdered milk more resistant to bacterial contamination.

However, it's important to note that powdered milk is not completely sterile. While the heat treatment significantly reduces the microbial load, it does not guarantee complete elimination of all bacteria. Some heat-resistant bacteria or spores may survive the process. Proper handling, storage, and usage instructions, such as reconstituting the powder with clean water, are important to minimize the risk of bacterial growth and ensure food safety.

If you have specific concerns about the safety or handling of powdered milk, it is advisable to refer to the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines for the specific product you are using.

Photo credits: elif tekkaya via Pexels
amikvshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06279256231045601365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7773705670262104456.post-39478169882430087302023-04-04T23:45:00.003+08:002023-05-21T05:04:26.849+08:00How Would You Describe Prince Charming?

Say, you are writing a novel or a short story. The Holy Bible often mentioned about the unlikeable Gentiles. Why were they like outcasts?

The term "Gentiles" generally refers to people who are not Jewish or who are not part of the Jewish community. In a religious context, the term is often used in contrast to Jews or to refer to non-Christians.

The term "Gentile" is derived from the Latin word "gentilis," which means "of or belonging to a nation." In the Bible, the term is used to refer to non-Jewish people, particularly in the New Testament.

Were The Gentiles Israelites too?

In the Bible, Gentiles are mentioned in various contexts, and some of them lived in Israel while others lived outside of Israel.

In the Old Testament, Gentiles are sometimes referred to as "the nations," and they are depicted as living in different regions and kingdoms around Israel. For example, the book of Genesis describes various Gentile nations, including the Egyptians, Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, who lived in the lands surrounding Israel.

In the New Testament, Gentiles are also mentioned in various contexts. Jesus and his disciples mainly ministered to Jewish people, but they did encounter Gentiles from time to time, such as the Syrophoenician woman in Mark 7:24-30. After Jesus' death and resurrection, the early Christian church began to expand its mission to include Gentiles, and many Gentiles became followers of Jesus. This led to debates within the church about how to integrate Gentile believers into the predominantly Jewish community of followers.

In summary, both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible describe Gentiles living both inside and outside of Israel, depending on the specific context and historical period.

Where Are The Gentiles Now?

As for where the Gentiles are now, they can be found all over the world, as the term encompasses a diverse range of people who are not part of the Jewish community or who are not followers of Christianity. However, today, the term "Gentiles" is less commonly used, if not no longer used, for the reason that it is considered outdated and even offensive in some contexts. Instead, people are often referred to by their specific ethnicity or religious affiliation.
amikvshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06279256231045601365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7773705670262104456.post-41201277417788691622023-02-25T14:39:00.004+08:002023-05-21T04:51:11.879+08:00What Happened To Cebu Holdings?

What happened to Cebu Holdings?

On 16 December 2021, Cebu Holdings Inc (CHI) was merged with and into Ayala Land Inc (ALI) with the latter as the surviving company.
Web hosting companies usually offer multiple web hosting plans. It usually starts with a starter's pack, which is the cheapest and with lesser features. Which plan should you get? Should you go with the cheapest?

I have listed here 12 of the most important features of a web hosting plan can provide.

Choosing the Better Web Hosting Plan from a Web Host Provider
There are a many features that a web hosting provider should be able to deliver. Not all of them are available in one hosting plan. Cheaper plans have fewer features. So, choose the web hosting plan most appropriate to your website.

To guide you on what to look for in a better web hosting plan, I have listed 12 of them. There are more than 12 but are too technical to discuss here.

Based on my experience, these are hosting plan features that I am really particular with for the reason that I consider them very essential. To those who just look for a cheaper commercially popular web host, they may take these features for granted.

Trust me, you too, should look for these features. If what I have discussed here are beyond your jargon, by all means, consult a web specialist who would be happy to assist you.

The following are the features that you should look for in a good web hosting plan.

Green hosting

1 A green web host is one that uses renewable energy. Web hosting providers use huge servers that leave carbon footprints harmful to our environment. Thus, if you care for our Mother Earth, choose green web hosting.

Affordable price

2 Let’s be practical. As much as possible, we save our money. So, by all means, choose a web hosting plan that is very affordable. How much is affordable? Well, that actually depends on you.

Be careful not to be lured by $1 or free-hosting promotional gimmicks. Most likely, there is a catch behind that tempting cheap price. So, make sure that you understand the web hosting plan that you are choosing. If chat is available on the web host’s website, don’t be afraid to ask: what’s the catch? Usually, the catch is: the $1 is good only for one month; or, free means free trial period.

Unmetered bandwidth

3 Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data that can be transmitted at specific time from one point to another. In simplest term, it has something to do with speed. If the contents of your site are heavy and volume of traffic to your site is high, most likely your site would take time to load if your bandwidth is low.

Find a web host that offers unmetered (aka unlimited) bandwidth so that, at anytime, it can handle high volume traffic (multiple usages at the same time) and minimise buffering of large contents such as images, videos, apps and scripts.

If your web host does not offer unmetered bandwidth, you will be required to purchase additional bandwidth when such need arises. Paying extra bandwidth can be expensive.

Multiple domains hosted

4 This is a big advantage especially if you own or plan to own multiple websites under separate domain names. Rather than having separate accounts, might as well take advantage of having multiple sites in one account.

Other hosting plans offer only 1 domain name, which also means, only one website. Should you plan to have multiple sites, these would be sub-domains of your principal domain name.

To understand how sub-domains work, here is an example.

My principal site is amikvs.org. My other sites are called photos.amikvs.org, retailstore.amikvs.org, consulting.amikvs.org, etc, which are all subdomains of my principal domain.

Therefore, pick a plan that accommodates multiple domain names just in case you may need to branch out to other businesses in the future and build websites for them as well.

Encrypt Wildcard SSL

5 This is about security. If your website starts with HTTP, it is not secure for the users who are viewing your site. If it starts with HTTPS, it is secure. The main benefit of having HTTPS over HTTP is that the former protects the users from being attacked by hackers. In other words, it makes your site visitors safe.

Search engines favour more HTTPS sites.

Nightly Backup

6 This is one of the most important feature that you should look for a web hosting provider. A nightly backup gives you an assurance that your website and everything in it are recoverable in case something happens to your host’s web server. Otherwise, say goodbye to your data.

Unlimited disk space

7 A website does not occupy much disk space unless your site is about high resolution photos and HD videos. Other than that, you won’t really need a large disk space. However, it is still a better choice to have unlimited disk space so that there will always be room as your website grows. Otherwise, your website would be limited to its small size unless you purchase extra disk space, which could be expensive.

If high resolution photographs is of not importance to your website, the images you put on your site should be scaled to a lower resolution — less than 500kb — to allow them to load faster. If you are using heavy videos, it is better to put them on a separate host such as YouTube.

What if the main contents of your site are high-resolution photos and HD videos? In that case, you will be needing a dedicated server, which is expensive.

Multiple or unlimited MySQL databases

8 Most websites today use a database that store your site’s data in an organized and systematic manner. WordPress, for example, use one database to hold your contents such as texts and images. A database is necessary for a systematic storage and retrieval of your contents.

There are web hosting providers that allow only one database. In that case, you can only publish one website built with WordPress or similar CMS (content management system).

So, choose a web hosting plan that allows you to use unlimited number of MySQL databases so that you can publish multiple websites. If not unlimited, at least, look for a web host that allows more than 20 MySQL databases.

24/7 reliable technical support

9 No doubt, you need 24/7 technical support especially if you leave in a country the time zone of which is different from your web hosting provider. Look for the one with chat support so that you can avoid overseas call charges. Moreover, with a chat support, you can get immediate help compared to email support.

To test if the chat support is reliable, talk with the support via chat on its website and ask a few questions. It is important to find out if the chat support is friendly and the people behind it are accommodating and knowledgeable. Remember, though, to be polite and courteous; don’t provoke anything that will make the person behind the chat to react in an unbecoming way.

The next 3 features may be not as specially essential as the first 9 but worth mentioning.

Multiple Email Accounts

1 This can be valuable if you want to brand the email addresses of your staff who will be corresponding with your clients or customers. For example, instead of sending sales queries to mypersonalemail@gmail.com, it will be more presentable if you lead your customers to sales@mycompany.com.

For security reasons, however, having a Gmail or Yahoo email address is a wiser choice. In this regard, you can redirect your branded email address to your Gmail or Yahoo inbox. Ask your web specialist to assist you about this.

cPanel and Softaculous or Fantastico

2 Most web host providers already come with cPanel and Softaculous or Fantastico. A cPanel is your online dashboard or control panel that helps you to manage your websites. It is a necessity that makes your web specialist’s job a lot easier. Softaculous is a library of scripts that automate the installation of select apps such as WordPress. Fantastico works the same way.

If the web hosting provider does not provide cPanel with Softaculous or Fantastico, don’t pick that web host.

Honesty, Trustworthy, Truthful

3 If an organization is money-oriented rather than honest service-oriented, most likely it will offer you all kinds of gimmicks just to lure you in buying. People who are behind that kind of organization are hard to deal with for the reason that they will just send you a battery of lies.

Yes, I do understand that a business company needs robust finance in order to survive; but such is not an excuse to deliver false promises and below mediocre type of services.

This feature is never listed on web hosting plans. In fact, you will never know if the people behind the organization are honest, trustworthy and truthful. The only way to find out is through recommendation of other people.

What about reviews?

Unfortunately, not all reviews are objective.

My Recommendation
There they are. I have listed 12 of the best features of a good web hosting provider.

You might be asking, does it exist?

Yes, in fact, the provider that hosts all my websites have all these features. Go check out GreenGeeks and see the features yourselves. Being familiar with GreenGeeks, I could, more or less, easily address concerns my client might have regarding web hosting.amikvshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06279256231045601365noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7773705670262104456.post-27322869637206786602017-08-02T17:23:00.000+08:002023-05-21T05:04:08.211+08:00What's the Top Most Bestselling Book of All TimeAs of this writing, The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown is the number one bestselling book of all time.
Anna Jarvis started Mother's Day to honor her own mother sometime in early 1900s. Her mother was a Sunday school teacher who helped women how to take care of their children.

Anna Jarvis fought to make Mother's Day a national US holiday. She would sign her name Anna Jarvis, Founder of Mother's Day. She died alone, blind, and penniless at age 84 in a sanitarium. She was single and childless. However, her mother's prayer in 1876 to have a national holiday in honor of all mothers remained true to this day.

Where Did Mother's Day Start?

The first Mother's Day service was held at St Andrew's Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia in 1908. The church is now a museum called International Mother's Day Shrine. Two years later, Mother's Day became a holiday in West Virginia. Other states followed soon. In 1914, US Congress passed the law designating the Second Sunday of May as Mother's Day.

Why Is Mother's Day Celebrated on the Second Sunday of May?

The second Sunday of May is the nearest Sunday to the death anniversary of Anna Jarvis's mother.

Earlier Mother's Day in 1600

In England, Mothering Sunday is celebrated every 4th Sunday of Lent, originally to honor the Blessed Mother, but later celebrated to honor all mothers.
The first line of Hail Mary, originally in Greek, is a verse from the Gospel according to St Luke 1:28 when the archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was to carry the child Jesus.

Hail, favoured one! The Lord is with you."

The second line is from Luke 1:42 when Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth said to Mary ~

Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

The devotion may have started in 1100s. Christian faithfuls used it as a form of greeting ~

Hail, full of grace. The Lord is with Thee.

The tradition of reciting the first two lines with the name Mary added after the word Hail started in the middle of the 13th century in Europe.

The petition part of the prayer

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.

first appeared in print in 1495. The prayer was written in Latin with the absence of the word nóstrae.

Sáncta María, Máter Déi, óra pro nóbis peccatóribus, nunc et in hóra mórtis. Ámen.

In his Cathechism in 1555, St Peter Canisius SJ, a renowned Dutch Jesuit priest, is credited for adding to the Hail Mary this line ~

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners.

In 1566, The Cathechism of the Council of Trent completed and made the prayer official as we know today.

In Latin ~

Áve María, grátia pléna,
Dóminus técum.
Benedícta tu in muliéribus,
et benedíctus frúctus véntris túi, Iésus.
Sáncta María, Máter Déi,
óra pro nóbis peccatóribus,
nunc et in hóra mórtis nóstrae. Ámen.

In English ~

Hail, Mary, full of grace!
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou amongst women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

On 13 May 1917, three shepherd children, namely Lucia (10 years old), Francisco (8), and Jacinta (6), saw a Lady in all white and brilliant than the sun, who introduced herself as the Angel of Peace. The Lady was wearing a white mantle edged with gold, and holding a rosary. She asked the children to pray the rosary everyday and devote themselves to the Holy Trinity.
The devotion to the Lady spread as devotion to Our Lady of Fatima - a name added to the hundreds of appellations attributed to Mary, Mother of Jesus.

When did the Catholic Church recognised the apparition as "worthy of belief?"

In 1930, the Catholic Church recognised the apparitions and miracles at Fatima as "worthy of belief." This year, 2017, the Catholic Church celebrates the 100 years of devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. The feast day of Our Lady of Fatima is every 13th of May.
Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto is the tenth and current Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines. Pope Benedict the XVI appointed him Nuncio to the Philippines on 10 May 2011.

Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto was born in Noci, Itali on 26 May 1952. He was ordained priest on 1 April 1978; ordained bishop on 6 January 2002. Before Philippines, he had become Apostolic Nuncio to five other countries: Senegal, Cape Verde, Mali, Guinea-Bissau, and Chile.

An Apostolic Nuncio, or Papal Nuncio, is the head of an Apostolic Nunciature. An Apostolic Nunciature is a diplomatic mission of the Holy See. It is like an embassy except that its purpose is missionary, aside from diplomatic relations.

The Holy See, or the See of Rome, is a sovereign entity headed by the Pope. It governs all the Catholic Churches in the world. The Holy See is not a physical place but like any form of government, it has to have leaders and offices. Officially, its main, top or central office is located in the Vatican City State, which is enclave in Rome.

The Apostolic Nunciature to the Philippines was established in 1951. It is located at 2140 Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila.
What is the most searched keyword or term on the Web? What is that word that the global netizens usually type on their browsers the moment they turn on their computer?

The answer is Facebook.

Not exactly that the people search the Web for items or news related to Facebook. They already know exactly where to go to. They want to login to Facebook. It's just that they are, perhaps, lazy to type "facebook.com" or "www.facebook.com" on the URL address bar or search bar. They also have not bookmarked the Facebook website, or have not set it as their default home page on their browsers. It could have been easier for them. Yet, they prefer typing on the search bar or URL address bar. Perhaps, it is more convenient for them.

The irony is, the words that the Facebook users actually type are "login facebook", not just "facebook". Typing "facebook.com" could have been easier and shorter. It skips the search engine results page (SERP) and it brings you immediately to the Facebook site. Otherwise, simply type "facebook" and surely, Facebook would be on the SERP list.

Who Are The Top 10 Heavy Users of Facebook?

If you cannot see the chart below, the following countries are most likely the top 10 users, in that order, of Facebook:
Turkey, Venezuela, Tunisia, Italy, Albania, Colombia, Malaysia, Croatia, France, and Bosnia And Herzegovina.

On December 8, 2012, Las Vegas, USA, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao lost and knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in the 6th round. It was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception — a spiritual icon whom Pacquiao turned against after he found a new faith. Of all dates, why on December 8 — a date revered by the Catholic Christendom. Coincidence?

Pacman was a devout Catholic then. He never failed to hear mass and receive the Eucharist before any of his fight. A rosary was always around his neck and he never failed to make the sign of the cross whenever he could. After enjoying all the glories, and the money and fame he achieved from around the world, he turned his back from the Catholic Church.

Last June (2012), his first fight being a non-Catholic, Pacquiao lost to Timothy Bradley by (controversial) decision. Today, December 8, USA time, he lost to Juan Manuel Marquez. This time, there's no controversy. It was a pure and clear knockout.
