What is Pink Rain Lily?

What do you call this flower? This flower is called Pink Rain Lily. Its scientific name is Zephyranthes carinata. It is also commonly known as the rosepink zephyr lily. It is a perennial flowering plant native to Mexico, Colombia and Central America.

How to care

If you have pink rain lily in your garden, or plan to have one, it needs regular watering but with little amount of water only especially during spring and summer. No need to water it during winter.

In tropical climates, such as in the Philippines, where there is no winter, you may need to water it everyday except on rainy days and after.

Fertilize pink rain lily with compost or manure at the time of planting the bulbs.

How to propagate

Propagate the pink rain lily by dividing the bulbs during the dormant season. Separate the offsets from the parent bulb and plant them in individual pots or directly in the garden. Pruning is not typically required for this type of plant.
