Who Is The Sixth President of the Fifth Republic of the Philippines?

Elected and assumed position on 30 June 2016, Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the 16th president of the Philippines. On the other hand, he is however, the sixth president of the Fifth Republic of the Philippines. The Fifth Republic commenced on 2 February 1987.

From 1988 to 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte was the Mayor of Davao City. He has been in public office since 1986. He was born in Maasin Southern Leyte on 28 March 1945. A law graduate of San Beda College, he passed the bar examination in 1973. Prior to taking up law, he studied political science at the Lyceum of the Philippines University.
